Lorenzo's "Cruising Logs"

Like I said last year, imagine a student in Philosophy,  amateur poet, actor and musician, and I hope you will sympathize with the translator (me!), faced by the  daunting task of rendering a very colloquial narrative, full of learned references which would be understandable only to insiders.

I have the feeling that this year Lorenzo was less inspired; quite possibly, this summer's crazy weather conditions that frequently forced us to stay in port for days on end bored him to death!
